Q: “How do we receive salvation?”

A: The answer again is simple: In order to receive salvation you must be born again. In John 3:3 Jesus says “Verily, verily, I say unto you, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” You are a threefold being: spirit, soul (mind, will, emotions), and body (flesh). Being born again is a spiritual rebirth. When you receive salvation and make Jesus the Lord of your life, the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in you and causes your spirit to be re-created. According to 2Corinthians 5:17, when you accept Jesus as your Lord, you become a new creature, or a new creation; old things pass away and all things become new. As far as God is concerned, at that moment, you stand before Him as a brand-new person. You are reborn from sin and death to righteousness and new life! “How do you receive the new birth?” Romans 10:9-10 says “That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Acts 2:21 reads “And it shall come to pass that whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

First you must believe in your heart that Jesus is the son of God and that he died on the cross for you and was buried, but on the third day was raised to life. Then you must confess out loud with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of the Father.

If you are ready to make Jesus your Lord and Savior, then simply pray this prayer out loud and the Holy Spirit will come in and perform the rebirth and change your life forever!

“Heavenly Father, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ is the son of the living God. He died on Calvary’s cross for me, was buried, and on the third day was raised to life. He is now seated at the right hand of the Father. I confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord. Now I ask you, to come into my heart forgive me of my sin, wipe away my past, give me a new heart and a new start. Now fill me with the power of the Holy Spirit, with the evidence of speaking in other tongues. Give me power to be a witness and I will serve you all the days of my life. In Jesus name I pray, Amen!”
